Teen Says He Was Shot For His Jeans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte high school student says he was shot while waiting for a bus on Monday because the assailant wanted his jeans.

Deshawn Hull planned to wear the new pair of brown jeans with a blue stripe to school on Monday. He says as he walked to his bus stop, two men pulled up in a white Ford Focus.

Hull told police the men got out of the car. First they asked for his money, he said. He told them no. Then they asked for his Girbaud jeans and he told them no again. One of the men shot at the ground, and as Hull ran to escape, he was shot in the right leg above the ankle.

Emergency personnel treated Hull for his wound, but had to tear the jeans open to get the bullet.
