What the fuck?!!!

It's not like Blacks are incapable of learning English. The biggest irony I find is that blacks from Africa speak English better than the Blacks here(not to mention they're more polite and decent). They'll have an accent, but you can actually understand what they're saying. Hell I met one lady from Zaire(former Belgian Congo) where the official language is Belgain I believe, yet again she spoke better English than all the native gangstas.

Here's an mental excercise for all of you to try sometime: just sit down and listen to two black women argue about something and try to make out what on earth they are saying.

Oh yes, this is very true.
I was watching a program recently and some Africans were being interviewed. They were intelligent, lucid and well-spoken.

I think the plantation owners got short-changed by the slave-traders a few centuries black. they obviously knew they were selling sub-standard merchandise

Yes sadly I must admit I am fluent in Ebonics. It's a necessity in my area. Pathetic really!

True words. Ebonics is like doing the limbo--how low can you go? This is just another attempt to lower the bar for Blacks. Just give them a test at the end of each year and if they don't pass, expel them. Don't waste another minute on these people. That way school will be for those who value learning, regardless of race.

A place where I worked once, we had alot of free time. One thing we all did was to endlessly practice speaking Ebonics and speaking Mexican gang dialect (sort-of English). We all got so good at it that sometimes we would go the entire day doing it among ourselves. Outside work, friends and relatives couldn't stop laughing, especially when we (from work) got together at parties and did this thing in front of others. Even the Jewish owner of the business could do Ebonics.

Question: if we could learn Ebonics, why can't blacks learn English?

Usually there is a selection by migration, that was true for the early migrants from Europe and its true now either. Even if they are criminals they are usually above average but below the peak of their population. So what you get is the intellectual middle class usually, because the lowest can't afford coming from Africa.
Thats different of course if there is a complex organisation which lends them money and does everything which has to be done to bring them here. If that phase is reaced the niveau can be very low, but this people will not give too much interviews anyway...
