I heard at the French TV the French (and Lebanese) are also physically attacked in Togo and their houses are plundered. It seems the situation isn't yet as serious as in Ivory Coast though. In 2003 a French school and a French cultural center were already firebombed.
There are about 3,000 French in Togo (this country is almost a French protectorate since its independence in 1960). More informations and news here (in French) : http://www.guan.fr/Togo-libre/index.html Edit : A French minister just declared the wife of a soldier was injured with a knife by Togolese plunderers when they entered her house, and French embassy and services were mobilized to protect European citizens.
