United Nations (UN) infact means "united states" (not of America, but of the world, supposedly). Nationality means citizenship. There is much confusion of words here at work. Of course, originally nation, as used in most European languages and as most people from Stirpes understand it, means somthing completely different. Maybe the usage of the word nation in modern English and its extension to other languages, is due to the influence of the American concept of nation, which is founded solely on constitution and allegiance to state? They have no nationalism, but just "constitutional patriotism". |
