Three killed at Turkish publisher
Three people have been killed at a publishing house in Turkey that produced bibles, in an apparent attack on the country's Christian minority. The victims were discovered at the Zirve publishing house in the eastern city of Malatya.
They were bound hand and foot and their throats had been slit, officials said.
Nationalists had protested at the publishing house in the past, accusing it of involvement in missionary activities, local media reported.
There is a rising wave of nationalist feeling in Turkey, the BBC's Sarah Rainsford reports, with Christian minorities complaining of pressure and harassment.
In the most serious incident so far, a Catholic priest was killed last year by a teenage nationalist gunman as he prayed in his church.
'Brutal crime'
The general manager of the publishing house, Hamza Ozant, told local media that his employees had been threatened in recent days.
A number of men had been detained in connection with the attack, local officials said.
Television pictures showed police leading several young men from the building.
One of those killed in the attack was German, the country's ambassador said.
"Even if the exact circumstances of the crime are not yet known, I most strongly condemn this brutal crime," Eckart Cuntz said in a statement.
Malatya is known here as a very nationalistic city, often with an extreme religious undertone, our correspondent adds.
It is the hometown of Mehmet Ali Agca, who in 1981 shot Pope John Paul II.
Turkey's Christian community comprises less than 1% of its population. More than 99% of the Turkish population is Muslim.

The push to make Turkey more acceptable to Europe in order to join the EU has likely added to the paranoia of the Muslim militants. That is not the main reason for this attack but it likely doesn't help. It would be better for relations between Turkey and Europe if the EU just said no to membership instead of dragging it out.

Surely, with news like this (Hrant Dink comes to mind) coming from Turkey, membership becomes less likely.

That might be another motive of the killers; to make Turkey look too extreme for even the EU globalists to love.

Victims tortured even in their more intimate parts for three hours !

As it has emerged from autopsies.

From the italian ANSA agency.

There are too many economical and strategical interests pushing for turkish membership, they reside in european and american freemsonic interest groups, the secret facet of the big industry pressure groups, to whom we must add israeli concerns for strategical partnership with the turkish army.

From an european (politically I mean) Turkey a new pipeline would bring oil direcly from Iraq to Europe, so bypassing Russia: this is the biggest advantage for the US, Russia would lose much of its power and US would have free access to oil through (apparently) friendly countries.

That is why the press in France, USA and UK is downplaying the issue, while big fat contracts for the turkish army are being signed by american corporations.

Really? I don't think so. Because the masters of the EU are not scared by these events. They live in highly protected areas, surrounded by armed guards, reflectors and dogs. So why would they be afraid of any kind of thugs coming from Turkey or from elsewhere...

That's what I think too. Europe is supposed to become some kind of Brazil in the future.
