Muslim women wearing the niqab or burka - veils that hide the face entirely - will be allowed to vote in the Quebec elections, without showing their face. That's the directive from the Director general of elections, despite the fact it goes against the electoral law. Typically a voter is to present photo-I.D. But women wearing a full-face veil will have to either swear that they are who they say they are - or have an adult with them verifying their identity. But Sarah Elgazar, from the Canadian Council on American Islamic Relations, says it's an interesting directive, but not necessary. She says very few women wear niqabs or burkas in Quebec, adding they're used to having to reveal their faces at banks, for example, provided it's in front of a woman.

Shouldn't Muslim women not be allowed to vote because voting is a right and according to Muslim law women have no rights (or a 1/4 of a mans some say).

QUEBEC – Muslim women will have to remove their face coverings if they want to vote in Monday’s Quebec election.
Quebec’s chief returning officer has reversed an earlier decision and is now telling Muslim women who wear a niqab to show their faces when they vote.


Facing threats from ordinary citizens that they would show up at polling stations wearing masks, Marcel Blanchet said in Quebec City today that voting day must proceed without incident.

Blanchet had to get two bodyguards as a result of his initial decision and Elections Quebec had received threatening phone calls and e-mails.
Quebec’s three main political leaders had asked Blanchet to reverse the decision.


Blanchet says he’s using special powers under electoral law to make the change.

Action democratique du Quebec Leader Mario Dumont says the law must be evenly applied to all citizens on voting day.

If they had tried this anywhere other than Quebec, they wouldn't have changed it back though... the Quebecois have way more passion for their culture and ways than any other place in Canada does for its own..

Yeah, I can see on the web the English Canadian media think this is a bad decision. Quebec was able to do this because it has been taken in much less multicultural nonsense.

Hey, in the present situation, I give my support to veiled Muslim women. It strengthens communautarism, hence prevents intercultural relations, marriages and all. It's a sign of colonisation and should be a revelator for the average people, xenogenic reactions usually follow. A cheap rouelle, sort of.

Quebec is monocultural because they never had initiatives to bring in many, many Europeans to farm the land out west (Ukrainians, mostly..). And I'm listening to Quebecois music right now. How coincidental.

I think Quebec is my favourite example of how to preserve a culture.

The "dhimmi" has become the neo-con code word to denote anyone who refuses to allign himself with Anglo-America and Zion. So, if you are opposed to American wars in the Middle Easr, if you are horrified at pulverizing cities with white phosphorus, if you are unwilling to die for Zion, you are being labeled "dhimmi."

That's way I shun from using that word. When I want to refer to those who favour mass immigration and are willing to tolerate shariah and other un-European legal systems (like African customs, polygamy etc.) on European soil, I call them multicultists.
