The BNP have said that they would welcome homosexuals into the party after reports in the press that Richard Barnbrook, a BNP councillor on Barking and Dagenham council, produced a gay porn film entitled HMS Discovery: A Love Story, which shows naked sailors fondling each other in a river.

Mr Barnbrook made the film in 1989 while he was a student.

GaydarRadio spoke to Dr Phil Edwards from the BNP and he said, “Mr Barnbrook is not a homosexual and if there are homosexuals in the party providing we don’t know about it, then fine!”

“It’s all nonsense, something out of nothing. It wasn’t a pornographic film it was an arty film and I know Richard Barnbrook would not do something like that," Edwards said.

During the interview Edwards found it difficult to understand why the word gay was used to describe homosexuals.

“What’s this gay anyway? I should imagine homosexuality is the least gay thing. I mean gay means to be happy. I should imagine being a homosexual would make people extremely depressed," Edwards said.

The BNP’s view is that homosexuality is unnatural and a very unfortunate condition to be in. However, Edwards said that “the party policy is toleration, but providing it is kept within the law which refers to consenting adults in private none of this gallivanting around and pretending that it’s a normal lifestyle.”

He said most people where anti –gay.

“If you go out to the general pubic and ask them do you approve of homosexuality virtually all people would say they do not at all,” Edwards said.

Andy Forrest from the gay rights group Stonewall said, “The BNP and other right wing fascist groups have always flirted with homosexuality and it just shows sheer hypocrisy.”

Forrest believes no happy gay person (which most are) would ever join a party like the BNP.

BNP Councillor denies making Gay porn film

A British National Party councillor has strongly denied making a gay porn film.

The Evening Standard claims to have a copy of a film produced and directed by Richard Barnbrook described as “'Marxist gay cinema from conceptual artist Barnbrook.”

He is the London co-ordinator of the BNP, which has promised to remove homosexuality from society, deeming it 'wrong and unhealthy for any community.”

The film, HMS Discovery, A Love Story, contains scenes of men undressing and touching each other, coupled with nudity and sexual activits, the paper claims.

The accompanying commentary in the film says, “A harsh scowl masks your smile, but weakens when your nakedness inspires.

“It bares you like a foreskin's folds ... you will make of yourself a beauty, hard as rusting trucks and slag.

“Fists in a toilet that smells of piss ... open-mouthed, I shall dream of altar-boys.

Mr Barnbrook, who won one of the 11 BNP seats in Barking and Dagenham local elections last week, told the Evening Standard, “It was an art film, end of story.
