Hardly. The west is filled with dirty liberals trying to spread their decadent western (i.e. liberal beliefs) upon others. Not only that but they're hypocritical. Plus, considering how the west is helping savage islams spread into Europe I can't consider that civilized.

I never said we contributed as much as the Greeks did to civilization. Given the fact that what were a nation of less then 10 million who what had a period of civilization for little over 100 years in the middle ages and then went through the dark age of Turkish rule for 500 years and then when it ended we had to focus on getting rid of Turks and then fell into another war as soon as the Turks were riddled, lost half are population in WW1, and then before we could recover we fell into communism, and then international sanctions because the west didn't like what we were doing is of course going to mean our contributions are small.

Look at Greeks. They've contributed little since Byzantium fell.

I think it is inaccurate; the thing is that today most discoveries are made by huge teams working for private labs while prior to WWII and even upto the 50's-60's discoveries were related if not to one researcher, at least they were achieved thanks to the researchs of of a single or just a few researchers MAINLY

You've got more than one point there, specially that even with EU rules the patent rights are so high that potential invetors still fly in mass to the US where the rights they have to pay to have their patents granted are much lower
