In his later years, as Congress was forced to deal with the issue of slavery, Franklin wrote several essays that attempted to convince his readers of the importance of the abolition of slavery and of the integration of Africans into American society. These writings included:

• An Address to the Public from the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery, (1789)
• Plan for Improving the Condition of the Free Blacks (1789), and

Well maybe his former plan was to emancipate them so that then he could "freely" send them back to Africa.


What ever he say or wrote the truth is that he had to go to France because they needed the help from "Swartoids" to create the "fairest" nation of the world

Franklin was ambassador to France for nine years so he knew what he was saying was not based on facts. He wanted immigrants only from England and Saxony but could not write that so he came up with this racial excuse. Part of a long tradition in America of talking in code about race and making words mean the opposite of what anyone else would understand them to mean.

Not really by the skin either. The Irish were depicted in their cartoons with very primitive ape-like faces and compared to Africans. Afrikaners in South Africa too were considered by the British as no better than Blacks.
