Great site (in Polish) showing pics pre-war pics, and the same places today. Some buildings have been carefully rebuilt, others simply do not exist anymore.

I have been to Warsaw a number of times. I actually gave some lectures at the University there on the day that they knocked down the statue of Dzerzhinski.
The rebuilt city is gorgous. If anything speaks about culture and the importance culture and tradition mean to Poles it is the way the old city was rebuilt, Just amazing. |
