The Poles did Have the Lisowczycy, which have been mistaken as Cossacks at the time. And Cossacks didnt have an ethnic identity really its like someone said before its usually people who were social outcasts or adventurers. As long as they were out for looting and pillaging to get some money they were in, Polish, Ukrainian, Tatar, even some germans and Hungarians.
