Excellent speech. You couldn't say more in so little time. However, there is a problem of image. That same speech should have been delivered by a much younger yet still aggressive in the delivery, leader. When you perpetuate yourself in power, wherever that power lies, the public usually sees it more like a perpetuation of your mistakes than of your successes. No matter if the latter overweigh the former.

The man is a genius in French politics, if he was 30 years younger he would be a very potent force in European Goverment !

The only part that bothered me was the impression of a raving lunatic that he gave out.
As for substance, it sums up my thoughts quite accurately. ![]()

Of course that's what he was, I was talking about impressions.

In France Le Pen is a politician who was born too soon, his politics are needed now more than ever,......in my opinion.

I agree with pretty much everything he said in the speech, the EU is an evil globalistic socialist/liberal movement who aims at destroying european nation-states, their culture, and their native populations.
Le Pen says what many europeans think, but are afraid to say, it's a shame politicians like him who actually love their country are almost never elected. |

However, unfortunately it is also true that Le Pen has not been up to the task of allowing what in Spanish we know as a relevo generacional: a smooth and aseptic, but safe road open to the race of new generations into the top posts of the party. And this is a problem that's currently bringing much internal divisions, which it reflects in the external, and could eventually provoke a split in the party. In all fairness I must say that a future rupture or a wrong direction in the Front National could be a tragedy not only for France in particular, but for Europe and Nationalism in Europe in general.

Went a bit off the track on FARC and Sarkozy which was not strictly relevant to his main theses. Since this was a written speech, not impromptu, this should have been ironed out. Also a bit too impassioned. A calmer style would have been more effective. Other than these quibbles, I -- like everyone else here -- agree with his arguments.
