Apparently, an increasing number of Latin-Americans convert to Islam. A Mexican (who maybe a Spaniard) who is converting to Islam in this video, says that in doing so he is "returning to his Spanish roots".

Reminds me of those American "blacks" of Nation of Islam [sic]. They also used to say that they were returning to Africa's roots... but of wich roots were they talking about, I have no idea. Slavery, perhaps?

He was talking about his "Spanish roots".

But what worries me more than Latin American is Dutch converts. Muslims seem to want to perpetuate the idea themselves, that there are numerous Europeans converting to Islam. Whether it is true, I am not sure - but certainly more than ever.

If people see Islam as attractive, and maybe something that could fill their religious void due to the secular demoralization of other religions, then they wont have much reason not to convert.

I'll even admit myself that I see some qualities in Islam, for Muslims. One, is the so-called Islamic nation. In an age where the indigeneous nations become meaningless, the Islamic nation might provide some relief for that, for the converts.

So if there are no other attractive options, then Islam could become very popular.

Like Wilpuri mentioned about that Finnish man being everything from a Nazi to a Muslim, I think there is an amount of people that will always jump the religious band wagon. The problem is that lately that number is growing and that today Islam is the most popular choice.

The Spanish roots are Christian. Unless he were a descendent of Moriscos, as many of them migrated to the New World territories of the Empire, before the edict of expulsion.

It is true and it is not new. See the origins of the Murabitum, for example. Nevertheless, many Dutch already converted to a non European faith in the past, namely to neo-Judaic Calvinism.

And that's hardly surprising, since the European society is destroying the only living source of spirituality for Europeans. Be them Socialist Atheists, National Socialist neo-Paganists, Liberal secularizantes.

René Guénon converted to Islam before national socialism came into existence. While living in Paris he was admitted in the year 1912 to a Sufi order by the master Esh-sheikh Abd er-Rahmân Elish el-Kabîr, through his representative the swedish painter Ivan Aguéli. Guénons conversion was motivated by the lack of living european spiritual traditions (Almquist 1977).

While I personally consider religious adherence not to be solely determined by nationality, nor by ethnicity, I see problems with Islam as an aggressor, as I also see problems with the neoconservative christian movement, for a parallell. I even think that religion and politics should be kept apart. Politics and natural spiritual consideration cannot be kept apart, in my opinion, but my stance is that natural spiritual consideration should be kept natural, and thus not religiously biased. What I propose is that good policy cannot be implemented without prior metaphysical contemplation.

The distinction between natural theology and revelation comes from the christian tradition, and the distinction between metaphysics and religion is intended here as a religiously indifferent variant of that distinction.

Islamism and Zionism are both enemies of nationalism in my country, but the detailed picture is not as black and white as it may seem. Some Christians are also Zionists, and most proper Christians, I assume, see something favourable in Islam when it is compared to atheism and godlessness.

Among the wider public there seems to be a lot of confusion between terms like Spanish and Hispanic. I mean, the term Hispanic with the semantic connotations it obtained in America.
