The only answer is to build strong nationalists groups or organizations, or get connected with some, be in groups like immigrants (just don't terrorize people, only for defense). You can be physicaly strong and all, but can't do nothing about a group of immigrants, or a single immigrant with a weapon.

It always makes me sick to my stomach, sort of like when I stop to think about living in this city, Toronto. It's completely alien to me. But it is never this violent or this bad here, I have been harassed on the metro once or twice but it never descended into violence or sexual assault.

To rescue me from harrassment? It's pretty unlikely. In Toronto as (16 or 17 year old) girl and a man were fighting on a subway train, the girl pulled a knife, and then she was shot. No one stopped it and the train had many passengers on it. It was the first shooting on the metro. A friend was mugged and no one came to her rescue either, despite there being people around...

I think there are good people who would help in a pinch like this but they are becoming more and more rare because they are afraid to be hurt themselves, or they are afraid to be arrested for assault or something along that line.

I don't know the correct term for that behaviour. But I guess herd behaviour will do.

If you put three people together -> the girl, the guy with the gun and ONE other guy. Then there's a very real chance this guy will interfere.

But if you put 10 people there, each of those 10 will wait for someone else to act first.
