At the extremes of the presented spectrum:
Classic Europids of racially progressive and mature character with very low to no Lappid traits:





Lappoid to typically Lappid individuals of more reduced-infantile character:








At a second look, the Lappid/Lappoid element is still predominant, even though mostly mixed with some very Europid variants among them.

Same population, different recombinations which are more classic Europid and mature-progressive or Mongoliform and infantile-reduced.
They are a mixture and like you can see it in mulattoes too, sometimes they split up again - or a specific bloodline, family, has more Scandinavian blood than the others totally.

"Different looks" is different specialisation, since there are reasons and advantages-disadvantages for this or that "look".

Who was Herman Lundborg?

In 1922 Sweden became the first country in the world to establish a National Institute for Race Biology. The establishment of such an institute was supported by all major political parties.

Under the leadership of Herman Lundborg, the institute soon began gathering copious statistics and photographs to measure the racial make-up of 100,000 Swedes.

This first round of analysis was completed in 1926 and provided the basis of Lundborg's textbook for upper secondary schools entitled 'Swedish racial studies'.

But the grandfather of Swedish race biology gradually fell out of favour as his vision of Nordic supremacy and his emerging anti-Semitism grew increasingly untenable in the light of developments in Germany.

From just prior to World War II until 1975, Sweden forcibly sterilized more than 62,000 people with Herman Lundborg in the lead of the project.[54] Sweden's large-scale eugenics program targeted ethnic or racial minorities, and the mentally ill. As was the case in other programs, ethnicity and race were believed to be connected to mental and physical health. While many Swedes disliked the program, politicians generally supported it; the ruling left supported it more as a means of promoting social health, while amongst the right it was more about racial protectionism. (Not until 1999 did the Swedish government begin paying compensation to the victims and their families.)

He was a scumbag. I debunked him here (Scandinavian forum, Stirpes). And I didn't even take account of his crimes there, I needed only his ideas to debunk him.

But as you mention him, in fact he did some documentation of Saami/Lapps. And we don't have to scrape it under the carpet or accept any of his criminal acts, as soon as we take a look at his research.
