Help: Fragmentation on FAT32!
Anyone knows of some software to perform defragmentations on windows fat32 filesystem? The built-in defrag sucks a lot, and fragmentation is extremely high.
Free if possible.

The best disk defragment utility is Perfect Disk. Ask to me in msn to get the version you need.

So far so good. It really works. Not like the M$ crap.
Which reminds me that on BSD FFS filesystems, after a year of much usage and with no tool for defragmenting whatsoever, disk fragmentation was of 0.3%!!!

I realized this was posted in 2005, but if you’re using M$, then you switch to an NTFS filesystem.
DirMS and JkDefrag are free and use very little resources. I find it odd that very few people know about them. JkDefrag is actually open source which is rare for a defragmenter. On the commercial side, O&O Defrag is great.

I'm back to BSD now. Well, not quite. Mac OS X. No disk fragmentation problems.
