German neo-Nazi goes on trial for Holocaust denial

A former leftist radical turned neo-Nazi has gone on trial for incitement on allegations he regularly published documents denying the Holocaust on the Internet.

Horst Mahler - a founding member of the left-wing Red Army Faction terrorist group - is accused of publishing the documents online between the years 2001 and 2004. Denial of the Nazi Holocaust is a crime in Germany.

The Potsdam state court trial that opened Wednesday is the latest case against the 72-year-old attorney. He received 11 months in prison last July for giving the stiff-armed Nazi salute when he reported to prison the year before after a conviction in a separate case.

The trial is expected to last until at least mid-November.
