IBM tops gay-friendly employer poll
Gay lobby group Stonewall has rated IBM top of a poll of gay-friendly employers in Britain.
The survey indexed a host of measures including how they engage with gay customers, commitment to diversity training, monitoring of staff sexual orientation, support for gay staff, and the presence of openly gay, bisexual or lesbian board members.
IBM UK general country manager Larry Hirst said: "To be recognised by Stonewall as the leading UK employer for workplace equality is a source of tremendous pride." In the US, sexuality rights group the Human Rights Campaign has given IBM its top score for gay-friendliness since 2003.
IBM beat competition from last year's winners Staffordshire Police to claim the prize. The Greater London Authority and Manchester City Council were tied for third.
Time Warner was the only media firm to place in the top 100. The Sun is said to be outraged. ®

I don't see the problem with being 'gay friendly'. Homosexuals have been made a part of modern society now, so we have to accept this and move in to more important matters. Seriously, whose business is it what people get up to in their bedroom? Many studies have indicated that the average gay IQ is actually several points higher than that of the heterosexual one. As long as they keep to themselves and don't impose 'gayness' on me then I am as polite and courteous as I would be to anyone else in society.

I would agree with almost everything you said but I do have to wonder about the IQ statistic. I have met lots of stupid gays. I know that is only anecdotal evidence but that's been my experience.

I agree . My younger brother is gay and he's smarter than me ! As far as I'm concerned , his sexuality is completely incidental and unimportant to me . Many gays have , and continue to make , an enormous contribution to the artistic life and culture of Europe , I cannot understand Crvena's constant hostility towards anything or anyone gay.

There was no problem with homosexuals decades ago, when they kept it to themselves and they were normal people other than in their sexual orientation. But that's not the case today.

I am not going to boycott a company just because they are "gay-friendly" because when it narrows down, all businesses are more or less gay friendly. If the product of the business is good I will continue to buy it. However, IBM in my opinion does not make good products. I have purchased from them in the past and have been very dissapointed.

Again , I agree with you there., and I think my brother would be the first to lable them as freaks. The problem is that these people represent a small but highly visable , vocal and outrageous minority . To judge all gay people by the antics of the misfits in that photograph is quite ridiculous . Unfortunately , these people represent the visible face of 'gay life' and it's the image that sticks .

Eh, where do you get off making a comparison between white, indigenous Welsh gays with East-Asians and race-mixing? Of course I'm against Welsh women dating non-European men... but this hasn't got anything to do with the matter at hand. It's an invalid comparison because gays by default can't race mix. The fact is that homosexuality has existed in every country throughout history, it's not going to go away if we decide to discriminate against gays. Homosexuality even has a high incidence in the Muslim countries who abide by Sharia Law. Go figure.

But I guess if people like you were in charge then we'd regress back to the 1970s where gays were ostracised in society, labelled psychopaths by psychaitric pseudo-intellectuals, given aversion therapy and screwed up for life. I suggest you drop your irrational hate for homosexuals and concentrate on some of the more pressing issues facing Europe.

The devirilization of the European man is one of the main reasons of our decadence. We will not win unless our internal problems - I mean, inside the ethnic European community - are solved. Ever thought of why Muslims are taking over Europe ?

It takes a lot of nerve to admit your gay younger brother is smarter than you, i'll give you that. I don't know about the validity of the overall statement however. I have met lots of gays and a lot of them didn't seem smart at all. Your opinion might be biased due to your brother.
Regarding the art comment, not to comment too much on it since it's off topic but there is no official rules towards what art should look like. Just like with beauty, art is something in the eye of the beholder. Of course society sets standards. It's like with Mozart, when Mozart's music came out a lot of people thought it was kind of odd and it was misunderstood like modern art and considered very different by the general audience.
