Believer or not. How do you imagine Jesus racially? Nordid, UP, Atlantid, Armenoid, Mixed etc.

I am just curious.

Leptosomic (East-) Mediterranid with (strong) Orientalid and possible other admixture.

Definitely not Armenoid/Assyrid...

I remember a Roman historian describing Jesus as light brown-haired, pale-skinned and blue-eyed. I once read it on a French site, I have to find again the source though.

Edit : It was not Arthur Kemp.

The blond Jesus is a myth IMO.

Orientalid.

Why not dark blonde? I was told that Mary was blonde as well... Hard to believe to me.

All physical descriptions of Jesus are fakes.
Take into account there is none in the New Testament.
Think of the phenotype of Palestinian inhabitants in I AD, probably mediterranid and so on.

A Roman Historian describing Jesus?
It seems to me unbelievable because the only one that writes about Jesus is Tacitus, but not description is given.

"Therefore to squelch the rumor that 'Nero had started the Great Fire of Rome', Nero created scapegoats and subjected to the most refined tortures those whom the common people called 'Christians', [a group] hated for their abominable crimes. Their name comes from Christ, who, during the reign of Tiberius, had been executed by the procurator Pontius Pilate. Suppressed for the moment, the deadly superstition broke out again, not only in Judea, the land which originated this evil, but also in the city of Rome, where all sorts of horrendous and shameful practices from every part of the world converge and are fervently cultivated."
- Tacitus, Annals 15.44 (written in 112 C.E.)

Computer-generated sketch of boy Jesus based on Shroud of Turin (courtesy Retequattro-Mediaset)

Quote:
What did Jesus Christ of Nazareth look like as a boy? While no one knows for certain, forensic experts are now using computer images from the Shroud of Turin along with historical data and other ancient images to make an educated guess.
In a documentary called "Jesus' Childhood" airing Sunday night on the Italian TV station Retequattro of the Mediaset Group, police artists use the same "aging" technology employed when searching for missing persons and criminals.
"In this case the experts went backwards. Now we have a hypothesis on how the man of the shroud might have looked at the age of 12," Mediaset said in a statement. "While some features, such as the color of the eyes and the hair's length, cut and color, are arbitrary, others come directly from the face impressed on the shroud."

...well, many different ethnic groups/races claim him as theirs Truthfully, I wouldn't really know. I personally don't care much what he was, but if it is to imagine him, I imagine him as maybe some type of Med, Orientalid or Armenoid.

The shroud of Turin was made several centuries after Jesus death.

I've seen people claim that the people from Jesus's area were non-Jewish gentiles, and even Europid in origin. Personally, I don't think his phenotype is that important in the grand scale of things. I'd guess Med/Orientalid as most likely.

I haven't heard other traditionalists mentioning it. Only Pushkin .
At the end of the day, I don't see the relevance for anyone who is a Christian. For an atheist perhaps, but not a Christian.
