Nordish!

But seriously, can't say anything about Ukrainians, and as for Russians, they don't differ much from Russians that live in Russia.

When I was in Odessa (southern Ukraine, actually considered a jewish capital of ex-ussr), I was a bit surprised by people (Russians and Ukrainians), that looked in my mind not 'southern' at all.

And Crimean tatars are not Europid.

There are big naval bases and navy yards there in Sevastopol aren't there? That kind of thing can change the ethnic mix very quickly when non-locals are brought in to work or serve in the military and they then stay to retire or raise their family.

From what I heard, a big return to Crimea of Crimean Tatars once exiled by Stalin started in the nineties, as a reult of which the Tatar element in the Crimean population increased.

There are also some smaller groups there who didn't make it onto the list above.

There were pockets of (quite lost!) Chuvash and Mordva there, in Soviet times at least (settled there in Tsarist times?).

One unique little ethnos there is the Krimchaks. They are Jewish by confession, Tatar by language, and er... well... funny looking by anthropology. I have a friend in Krasnodar who is descended from the same people. Worth a google search for the curious!

And where are the majority of the descendants of those Goths? Tatarised? Russified? Greekified?

The wines are nice. That translates roughly as 'cheap' to me, and they probably wouldn't be up to the standards of French connoiseurs on the forum, but they're still quite palatable. Massandra port, comes to mind. Mmm! With blue cheese!
