It said that it's a IBM PC XT, but I think that they are wrong. It is exactly like my IBM PC 8080, which I still have here.

Unfortunately one of the side effects was the non-availability of games for PCs in the early 80s - so I basically ended up with those Infocom text adventures, King's Quest, Ultima II and III and a few other relatively unknown graphics adventures.

Even if there had been, RAM memory was 128Kb.

I know people who were dropped out from the most elite University in Italy (Scuola Normale Superiore), which hosts one of the most important and difficult tournament in Italy, for having played Warcraft too much.

I was always somewhat ahead of the competition. My computers/consols in order:

1) The Grandstand consol (this one is more advanced than mine, my controllers were two sticks)


2) The Sinclair ZX Spectrum - somehow I was able to program & create my own games with these in pre-school.


3) The original Nintendo NES (yup, even had the robot and gyros )


4) The Commodore Amiga 500 - ah, old faithful. Had the best games ever!


5) The CDTV - what was I thinking?? It was the future....but too early


Then I got various PC's down to my current HP Pavilion (rip-off deal!)

The CDTV looks pretty cool..I had never seen that one before. My first computer was a black acer aspire with phone and everything. When I got it, it was the pinacle of computer technology(back in 1995 or so.)
The other day I turned it on..the memories..just 2 gigs..all I ever used it for was the internet and playing command and conquer: red alert
