I guess you are referring to Wolfenstein 3D, but it would also be "interesting" to know that the oldest ones were produced in the early 80's.
Castle Wolfenstein (1981) Beyond Castle Wolfenstein (1984) They are just that, a curiosity, don't expect any masterpiece.
