Re: Bush in Croatia
He's not an idiot. He's nothing.
I'm not into "anti-Bush" crap, it keeps us away from real problems and makes us look as bunch of teenager leftists who like to make caricatures of Bush and yet have little understanding what goes on in the world.
If Bush dies tomorrow, what would change? Nothing really. He's a puppet.
And yes, authorities know all well why they shouldn't ban such protests. When we had some anti-Bush protests here, protesters were bunch of "Che T-shirt" lefties, many of them not even from Slovenia and most of them drunk or high (or both). One way to discredit your enemy is to make him look like an idiot and anti-Bush protesters certainly don't look as some real opposition against America for me, more a joke.

Even in a one-party-system it is mentally easier to be "in the opposition", "against the system". In the two-party-system (which is in fact one-party-system as well), on the other hand, if the left is currently in the office and you are opposed to the system, it is automatically assumed that you are a "rightist", ie. supporter of the party of the right. And vice versa. Most people refuse to see that the two major parties are in fact one and the same party. Thus the liberal democracy, especially in its venomous two-party variety, is the most successful system of totalitarian manipulation ever invented. Each of the two parties usually has a very dedicated voting herd, needless to say."
