Banat shows some promise.
Default Re: Ethnic Map of Yugoslavia

Montenegro is represented there as ethnically homogeneous, while, according to 2003 census, ethnic distribution is as follows:

About 75% of the population are Montenegrins, while ~42% of them delare as Serbs, which makes Serbs ~32% and non-Serb Montenegrins ~43% of entire population.

The first map posted on the begining of this thread was corectly...Why you are not objective? The real opinion of etnics in former Yugoslavia you can have only if you know something about diferencies beetwen religion and nacionality...
Croation today (word means Hrvatska, hrv means restling) is country on serbian graves and blood...First croation "country" was gift of serbian King Aleksandar, from dinasty Karadjordjević, on years after WWI ,called "Kingdom of Sorabian, Hrvatian and Slovenian"- etnics picture was very diferrent from nowadays...

You must know that Croation before 100 and 200 and 3oo years ago was Sorabian of rimo-catholic religy...Autohtonic Hrvatian (not Serb) was mixed tribe od ancient Sorab with Huno-Awar-Ungar-Mongols tribes around Zagreb..they had diferent language from serbian...In WW II they killed a big number of domestic Sorabians(they didn't fight to ocupators), and after that, in socaled Jugoslavia (means country of South Slavic, because Yug is South),with lieder Walter Wais (renamed in Josip Broz Tito) they did the same...War in 1991.begin when group of armed Hrvatian killed almost whole people in weeding Sorabian party in village near watterfall Plitvice..The end you know:now Hrvatian had a lot of empty (ex sorabian)
land and little number of sityzen...They want now to import anyone (Albanians,Talibans, Tcigojner) who wants to confess hrvatian nationality and remove to rome.catolisism...

About Bosnian people-they became musliman, Alah's faith-in years when Turkish ocupied this part of land...50 and 100 and 300 and 400 years ago they were Sorabian of turkish religion, but today they lose langauge and names of sorabians and took everything from Alah's folowers...

So, if you mixed religion and nationality, you will make big mistakes (historicaly, etickaly and humanitily)...Everyone on the Earth choose his own destiny, and that's same for gropus of people, too....

Just one question, how often do you find a Serbo-Croat marriage in the territories of the old Yugoslavia? Or how often do these two groups have family friends of the other group? Is it a little less morbid between the two these days? Well, that was more than one question, but this is interesting.

Why is the Slovene coast line a different color than the rest of Slovenia? Does that belong to Italy?

The strip of coastaline that belongs to Italy was in fact claimed by Yugoslavia after WW2 but the western powers and Italy lobbied that it stays within Italy. There was a very known parole in Yugoslavia - "Trst je nas" (Trieste is ours)

@Svin when you're in Slovenia I suggest you come down to a visit in Croatia too. Istria is a very nice place.

You should visit the Alpine region, too. It's really gorgeous in the winter. I had two coats, gloves, and three scarves, and I was still freezing to death, yet I loved it. The innkeeper was a very friendly & chatty woman despite that I didn't understand a word she said. I loved it.

Have you ever been on some lesson in school (mathematics, history, etics?)
Croatin never has been kingdom, and never had a King..First indepent country of socaled Horvatian was formed by Vatikan and European Comunity ten years ago (10 years) or (only 10 years)....

Serbian KINGDOM is much longer ...from first KING Svevlad till King Petar ( from 632.year till 1945..) is 1313 years ( ONE THOUSAND AND THREE HUNDRED AND THRITEEN YEARS) or ONE MILLENIUM AND THREE HUNDRED THIRTEEN YEARS, if it is easier to you!

The most famous dinasty os Serbian Kings is family of Stefan Nemanja, so caled Nemanjići , rullers from XI till XV vek....

About OTToman empire,AGAIN MISTAKE::::
IF Otoman emperor comes in 1459...and go from serbian land in 1804..godine... IT MAKES 341 year not 500, sorry...

Your parents must take back money from your teacher!

Croatia was a kingdom almost 300 years before Serbia and it continued to be one up until 20th century in personal union with Hungary.

First Serbian king was crowned in 1217...you don't even know your own history. Serbia was then conquered and subjected by the Ottoman Empire 150 years later and continued to be a mere province of the Turkish Empire up until late 19th century.

It was an approximation. The struggle of Serbian state started in mid 14th century(or 1350). Serbia fell uinder total Turkish control in 1389 after the battle of Kosovo. Clearer?

In case unimportant....the fact is that Serbia was 500 years under Turks unlike some claimed here that this is not true.
