On October 5, 2000, a million Serbs took to the streets of Belgrade to protest at Slobodan Milosevic’s refusal to acknowledge his loss of the presidential elections to Democratic Opposition of Serbia candidate Vojislav Kostunica, now Serbia’s prime minister.
