HOW Often Do We Have Lustful Thoughts?
Yes, someone was paid to do this. Researchers from California State University, Los Angeles have scientifically determined that men think about sex an average of 37 times a week, while women have lustful thoughts an average of nine times a week. That means both men and women let their minds wander afar at least once a day. The study, conducted by Cal State psychology professor Pamela Regan and psychology graduate student Leah Atkins, surveyed 676 men and women with an average age of 25, asking each about the intensity and frequency with which they experienced sexual desire. "Virtually every participant in this study, male and female, reported having experienced sexual desire, and they did so on a daily basis," Regan explained to HealthDayNews. Should lust really be a sin? Find out who thinks lust has been wrongly branded as a vice and should be "reclaimed for humanity" as the life-affirming virtue that it is. Lest you think only men have such thoughts, think again. While 98.8 percent of men did admit to it, 95.9 percent of women did too. Men do have these thoughts four times more frequently than women, a fact that is confirmed by earlier research. "These differences may reflect socialization processes that differentially influence men's and women's sexual attitudes and behavior," Regan theorized. "Alternatively, they may reflect underlying biological differences between men and women." She suspects that the male hormone testosterone is at work stimulating desire more frequently in men than in women. Regan told HealthDayNews, that "the experience of desire may be the single most common sexual event in the lives of men and women." The study findings were presented to the American Psychological Society annual meeting in Los Angeles. http://channels.netscape.com/new/htm...oop/np/13.html |

Speak for yourself. I only think about sex if I'm provoked.

So according to this survey women think of it less than men. Another survey (can't remeber where though) said women think of it more than men. Therefore, such surveys would only be relevant in which concerns their subjects.

No, not sick. Start worrying the day that you think about it everytime you see a man.

These days you also always to have take into account the possibility (I'm not just talking about this survey, but in general) that the study has been done backwards: the desired result has been formulated first, and the research methods and material have been chosed to make sure the end result is the desired one. Almost all surveys dealing with "multikulturalism", "integration" and "racism" seem to have been conducted this way. |

Any research about : When are men supposed not to have lustful thoughts ?

Lust should be discussed qualitatively, not quantitatively. So, on a lust scale of 1-10, how would you rate your sexual thoughts? For instance, women, would you be offended by a pickup line:
"Excuse me, miss, have you ever looked across a room and made an instant connecton with someone? Well, just now, when I saw you, I fell in lust at first sight." (supposed to be funny and break the ice) |

Who ever said that lustful thoughts have to circle around sex? I have lustful thoughts whenever I think of beer and bratwurst.

37 on average is really rather low...probably some of the participants have almost no sexual inspiration whereas others are more normal.
