I'd guess probably two children is realistic, but I'd certainly like more time and money permitting. The better-looking half wants a girl which is fine with me, but I'd like boy as well so I can drum my bigotry and hatred into the next generation

The traditions of the Irish people are the oldest of any race in Europe north and west of the Alps, and they themselves are the longest settled on their own soil - Edmund Curtis (A History of Ireland: From Earliest Times to 1922) The Irish are one of the most ancient nations that I know of at this end of the world, and are from as mighty a race as the world ever brought forth. For it is certain that Ireland hath had the use of letters very anciently and long before England; that they had letters anciently is nothing doubtful, for the Saxons of England are said to have their letters and learning, and learned men, from the Irish. - Edmund Spenser (writer, and British Government Official in Ireland, AD 1596). The renaissance began in Ireland seven hundred years before it was known in Italy. And Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland, was at one time the metropolis of civilisation. - Arsene Darmesteter, Professor of Old French and Literature Ireland can indeed lay claim to a great past; she can not only boast of having been the birthplace and abode of high culture in the fifth and sixth centuries . . . but also of having made strenous efforts in the seventh and up to the tenth century to spread her learning among the German and Romance peoples, thus forming the actual fountain of our present continental civilisation. - Heinrich Zimmer, Professor of Celtic and Sanskrit, Member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences |

![]() At the time being I wouldn't want any kids because of many reasons. First and the main reason is because I'm poor ( ) and wouldn't want to live with my folks depending on them and their financial help. Second reason would be that I wouldn't want my kids to grow up in a world like this one we're living in. There are plenty more... I won't vote for now, but if Stirpes will exist in 8-9 years I will. ![]()

oh! looks like i'm the only mama here.
get on with it girls. you don't know what you're missing ![]() on a more serious note, i honestly believe that leaving motherhood till late in life is not a good idea. i had mine when i was 26. latest reasonable would be around 30. later than that you don't really feel like playing their games, or getting involved in their lives. children need plenty of energetic companions, and not only their peers. they need their parents to be energetic too! what's the point in waiting until you have soooo much money to have a child when that child will have all the money but a tired set of parents? remember that there is a huge difference between a house and a home. a house is built with money, a home with love. just my opinion of course. use or discard as you please ![]() |

I couldn't agree more, but I'd like to start later in life. During my early twenties I want to have as much fun as possible being young and in love. A child is a blessing; a true gift from God, but I don't see one in the near future anytime soon! I think it's better off to wait until you're AT LEAST 25. You'll be settled down, stable, ready for a baby.
That being said I CAN'T WAIT to start a family and squeeze those little baby cheeks. Count all ten fingers and ten toes when they're born, make sure their little bellies are full, walk holding their hands, make sure-- well, you get the point. |

![]() I hope we will be able to have one child, and maybe even two. After nearly 5 years of marriage, we've been thinking about it a lot lately, but there are still some things to be done before taking the big step. |
