LOL. It seems that no research or anything of the kind, whenever men or women or anything referring to their sexuality or marital status are mentioned, can go without attaching either of the two tags, homo- or hetero-.

Some would call it sissies and cowards (not me, I am just giving one possible interpretation).

Now this is so true, for human nature in general. Your childhood experiences affect your outlook of life in a profound way, not only in this respect.

It is a bit of a silly assumption you hear quite often these days, namely, that people do get married only because they are giving in to the social pressure. Otherwise, they would remain happily single, it is implied. It is complete nonsense. Many people who marry do it because they want to avoid loneliness (which is a difficult burden, a least for some) or because they think that single life is very complicated and the married one less so. But to decry "social pressure" to marry is bullshit. It was maybe the case one hundred or even fifty years ago. There are, on the centrary, many enticemnets for singleness these days, singleness is celebrated as a life-style of freedom or of I don't know what. So the social pressure could be seen as having another direction.

This hideous word employed in this context gives a hint to at least one part of their problem. If that is a problem to them...
