I disagree with the argument that a man should never hit a woman. Why not? Should a strong man never hit a weaker man by the same token? Sometimes people deserve it. Being female is no excuse.

Well i'm not one for having to go around beating up weaker and smaller people than my self. If you that's how you get yer kicks, well batter in. If you wish to use the self defence card then I doubt someone smaller and weaker than me is going to try and fight me.

Well, I didnt imply sexism was necessarily wrong. Like racism, I believe it is a reality, and I am not referring to discrimination, but the reality .. and significance/importance of sexual roles. Equality is a joke.

But I basically agree, and I didnt mean that women should get beatings by strong and violent men, whenever they deserve it. That being said, if a strong woman (oh, they exist, I've seen a couple of extremely masculine weight lifting women, that could kick my ass) beats the hell out of a weaker man, then I wont blame him for hitting her in self defense.

Same, if a woman swings a baseball bat at me.

It depends completely on the definition of equality. But basically women are not men and this should not be so. But I do like the right to vote. ^^

Run until he finds a police officer who is smaller then the femalle who chaises him, that being the onyl way to protect the guy, by using force. And by force I don't mean your " beat the living daylights out of me".

It sounds silly, yes, but what you've said isn't better, believe me.

My opinion on this is clear. I would never be violent against someone weaker than me. When someone is equal strong, no matter man or woman, and he/she starts first, I'd use force.

I'd also never use violence in a relationship, no matter if my partner (woman) is stronger than me or it. She is my partner, I've chosen her, and that's it. If she becomes too agresive, I'd sue her, and let the judge decide.

I don't mean in the case of fights among friends like real fights. More like playfighting. It was a general observation put into anthropological terms. Sue me. :p

Most of the time, men are stronger and bigger so therefore more of a threat than a tiny girl like me. Then again people seem to be afraid of me. It's probably my glasses or something.

No, I already said I agreed on Phlegethon's circumstances and those all fall under it. Self defense is fine, as long as this self defense is reasonable. Probably the smaller and weaker woman won't do much damage to the taller and stronger man anyways, but he could probably bat her away like a fly. It doesn't mean he can beat her to death back (like you said), just to restrain her and prevent her from causing harm to herself and others.
