Traditional Catholic. Bible, Cross, can of lager

I do not believe in something "outwordly", such as Thor roaming the skies or Jesus walking on water. I also don't believe that I, as a person, will "end up" somewhere when I die. However;
I am definitely not anti-religious. I think this kind of exoteric religion fills a great need for a lot of people, and that it is a good thing. I also believe in the need of feeling a responsibility and connection to the earth and your ancestors and offspring, and if some people need a belief for this, then so be it. I believe our myths and religions have a great meaning and purpose, and that it's definitely not something to disregard just because you don't believe them in a strictly scientifical way. Also, all of my ancestors up til me probably were more religious than me, so who am I to say that they were all wrong? Maybe a belief would do me good too, but I can't force myself to believe... I answered no...

I want to ask the same question, but I presume that I fall within the 'let me explain' category. I don't subscribe to any given set of dogma, but I am spiritual. I think that there is such a thing as spiritual truth, but to me it is something completely different to be on a quest for it, compared to blind faith affirmation of dogma.

"Religious" is a too broad and too indeterminate notion. It can mean everything and nothing. There is a difference between religion and faith. Many people are not aware of this profound difference.
So I didn't vote on the poll and I don't consider myself neither religious nor non-religious. I consider myself Christian. "Religious" is a tag usually attached to those who attend religious rites only because of keeping the societal norms, but have no faith in themselves.

You are absolutely right, Plethon. I wouldn't be mistaken for a "cultural Christian" or any other sort of "agnostic Catholic". I correct myself, and so here is my much more precise answer. I am a Christian and I have the Faith.

It is a matter for serious discussion and not for commenting on a trivial poll. The answer to your first two questions: yes. The last one should be discussed at length.

Which is to say that you respect your heritage.
