Italian Church opens doors for Muslim Friday prayers

A Italian Church has decided to allow Muslims to meet and pray in church premises in his parish on Fridays.

A priest in Paderno di Ponzano near Treviso in the northern Italian region of Veneto, Aldo Danieli, has decided to allow Muslims to meet and pray in church premises in his parish on Fridays to foster better integration of immigrants in the local community, La Repubblica newspaper's website reports.

Volunteers at the church of Santa Maria Assunta have said that their meetings with Muslims from the immigrant community enable them to "experience different cultures and break down barriers caused by misunderstanding and intolerance," La Repubblica said, quoting Italian charity Auser.

The meetings between volunteers from Danieli's parish and local Muslims - many of whom are women - have been organised through Treviso's Islamic Centre.

Some 650 immigrants, many of whom are from North Africa, live in Paderno di Ponzano , a small town of 9,800 people.

This kind of 'moral Christianism', with its ecumenical aspirations, its lack of spirituality and its preposterous tolerance towards enemies would had been considered heretic in medieval times, that's for sure. The worst thing is that they are indulging in a "religious miscegenation" and thus leaving their faithful believers confused and defenceless.

As we say in Spain, the Church is digging its own grave.

Anyone knows what is the current position of the pre-Vatican II Traditionalist Catholics?

Last I've heared they seem to be split between sedevacantists and those who have contented with some changes, which appear to be mostly external.

Send the priest to an Imam-school.
Obviously he doesn´t represent his, I presume, Catholic parish members.

But I doubt that he would be welcome to an Imam-school. I can hardly imagine that they would tolerate a heathen...

It's not as simple. The problem doesn't lie in that priest. The problem lies in that the hierarchy is not doing anything to stop priests like him.

Maybe. But those lines were more a way of pointing out that the Islamic world will not reward the Catholic world for showing ecumenic tolerance.
