Durden, if you want I have a book that explains in more details about the veche system and how it operated in Kieven Rus. It always goes to some lengths explaining the Novgorod system which lasted until the 1530's.

The only family which could have served as America's royal family would have been the Adamses. I don't think there's any doubt that at least up until the Second World War, the Adams family would have been a beneficial influence on the American people. Henry Adams, who served as a sort of behind-the-scenes Secretary of State during the McKinley/TR administrations (his best friend formally held the office, but Henry Adams had the stronger personality), was an ardent racialist. Not that this was such an unusual thing 100 years ago, but never-the-less, he was quite eloquent and unashamedly outspoken on the subject of America being a country solely of and for European-descended people. I don't believe he was the last Adams to speak out in that regard, either. The purpose of monarchy is to provide an institution that promotes societal continuity. The Adams family would have been likely to serve usefully in that capacity. They were pretty much the prototypical conservatives (prior to that term becoming one of scorn and derision since the rise of the Bush Junior administration, that is).

Default AW: Republic or Monarchy?

Other
I have been thinking of what government type I'd like for some time now, here is some of the things I'd like to see in my government.

1st I'd empliment a system of Ethnocracy. No person which is not of the folk of the people of that nation, then they cannot gain any possition within the government. I understand this will require the establishment of law and strict definition of who is and who is not a citizen of the country (a member of the folk). This can be seen in Germany during the Third Reich, where the government set out and defined citizenship by ethnicity and race, e.g., no jews were citizens.

2nd I'd empliment a system of Meritocracy for all or most political roles. These would be governors of provinces, mayors of cities, town councils, province legislatures, etc. One must past a series of tests in order to prove that they are learned enough to lead their people and empliment educated decisions that effect the people under them. Any member of the citizenry (Folk) is aligable to take the tests and reach the lower strata of government. All Judges, local, provincial, or nation will be chosen by a system of merit.

Clarification is needed for my use of provinces instead of states. They are a division of territory under the jurisdiction of a Governor, the chief-exectutive of the province under his control. He must prove himself (or herself) as the best for the job though the system of Meritocracy, that is set up. The legislature in the province would go through a similar system to reach their offices, they would be the law makers of said province, laws that would apply only to that province. A similar system would be in place for Mayors and City counsols (legislative branch in a city, same as a province legislature, just smaller and it's affect is limited to city, town or village), yet they are up to the inhabbitants of their city and would likewise have to prove their merit inorder to get their positions. This would be a good time to say that all local laws or officials take secound seat to provincial laws or officials, just as provincial laws or officials take secound seat to national laws or officials; the higher up one is in government the harder the tests would be and longer the "road" will be to get there.

3rd The upper strata of the government would be led by a system of Aristocracy. This elite nobility of pure blood (definition to be set in law) would be responcible for the governing of the nation as a whole. The centre of this government would be a system of seven aristocrates which write the new laws of a nation and amend old ones, also they are to be the sole interpreter of the laws of the nation, when there is a question of "constitutionality" of something. These seven aristocrates would be chosen by the systems of Gerontocracy (age) and Timocracy (honour). They can only be chosen from the nobility (pure blood, successful members of the folk) and they must meet the criteria of having be the eldest of the nobility (minimum age would be around 60) and/or having extraordinarly extinquished themselves in combat, and gained honour through that, would they would be eligable for a seat of one of the Seven. This is called Heptarchy, or leadership of seven. These seven would be chosen from the population of nobility and have to likewise pass tests of merit in order to be given their posts as the nation's legislatures, or law makers and would also serve a limited role of judical, in regards to questions of constitutionality. Special consideration would be given to those which distinguished themselves on the Battlefield and earn themselves the honour of the highest merit (award yet to be named), and likewise must be a member of the nobility. The Seven National Legislatures would rule for as long as they will or until their death.

4th The national government's executive branch would be headed by a Leader (exact term), which would be the chief executive and offical of the national government. The executive branch of the national government would be in charge of executing the nation's laws, commanding the military, administuring foreign relations, appoint officials (diplomats, etc), administer public services and departments (highways, intelegence agencies, etc), and have the responcibility of issue decrees or executive orders. The Leader would be chosen by a popular vote from amoung the nobility (aristocrats), every 10 years. The Leader cannot have more than one term as leader. Each decade, a new leader is to be chosen and the old one would still be able to run for office in the national legislature, or in the local governments, if he/she wills. By that token, men and women can equality pursue political asperations, as long as they both fit the other criteria of the chosen office.

That is what I got so far. Give me your opinions, comments, criticisms, and help if you see a place that need fixing, etc. It would be appreciated. This is only a rough draft of government type that I would like to see implimented.

As for Republic or Monarchy, I don't like either.

Why the mixture of religion? I don't like governments or individuals putting their religion on me, or others that don't believe what they do. I think Government should remain secular, and take neutral possition in all things that all to be considered spiritual or religious. That being said, I think that the government schools should teach about all religions and respect all equally and not give one special treatment over another.

Do you have your opinion solely because you are Orthodox? Do you think non-orthodox people should believe what you should and be enforced by the government? Would there be freedom of religion under this Theocratic Monarchy?

A system similar to that of the instalation of the dukes of ancient Carantania, were the "good people" represented the people and confirmed the duke. The "good people" elected a person who they considered the most capable (regardless whether he was noble or not) as judge who asked everyone present whether the candidate for duke is good or not for the country. The whole installation of dukes is a long ritual and I will describe it further in history forum when I have time. It is certainly unique in European history and Americans didn't miss a chance to steal it and deform it as they have done with many other European traditions.

From declaration of independence.

Of course, ancient Slovenian 'democracy' had nothing to do with American democracy we know today.

Not necessarily. In France we have a very honest future king Louis XX. But we have to hurry, he can't wait, he's 90-something years old and he already looks like a (hardly) living-mummy.

The mummy returns?

I rather would say we have two different individuals mixed together here.

Louis XX is the young heir, the Bourbon with a Spanish accent (very comical situation btw if we refer to the origins of the Spain Bourbons ), the living mummy would be then late Henri d'Orléans, the Count of Paris (the Bourbons Orléans)? The Count of Paris' son, Henri, is the new heir of the French branch (has a son named Eudes de France).
