Default Newsflash: "Diversity" makes for less stable communities

Coming from the BBC itself, it must be right:

Quote:
Does diversity make us unhappy?

By Mark Easton
Home editor, BBC News

It is an uncomfortable conclusion from happiness research data perhaps - but multicultural communities tend to be less trusting and less happy.

People feel happier if they're with people who are like themselves. But the question is: what does "like themselves" mean?

Trevor Phillips

Research by the Home Office suggests that the more ethnically diverse an area is, the less people are likely to trust each other. The Commission for Racial Equality has also done work looking at the effect of diversity on well-being.

Security, understandable structures and customs and a common identity being important factors for happiness - not that new, but important to stress. Its biological too, because people prefer people of their own if being not conditioned in a unnatural way since they are biologically-genetically more related and more adequate for forming a close-knit and healthy community for most cases. Homogeneity is positive for a good group identity and common sense, for social cohesion and responsibility. But those are things Liberalcapitalism doesnt want to have - at least not in a too strong form which could change the system - anyway. Thats the only reason beside their worldwide expansion and "One World" phrases for furthering "plural societies", its better for plutocratic business and oligarchic control.
