A formal dinner honouring new PhDs at Lund University was interrupted on Friday when a leading feminist erupted into a profanity-laced tirade.

Tiina Rosenberg, one of the founders of the Feminist Initiative political movement and a political science professor at Lund, rushed toward the stage during an a cappella singing group’s performance, reports the Sydsvenskan newspaper.

“Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!” she yelled out before storming out of the building.

Members of the group, Last Call, were at a loss to explain what in their performance may have touched a nerve with Rosenberg, who also accused the group of “trampling on the Left”.

At the time of her outburst, the group was performing a humourous number entitled “Folkets Rättigheter” (The Rights of the People).

“Maybe she had had a tough day. But it was really no fun at all. And we were expected to just stand there in front of 500 people, be told off, and expected to deal with it. I’m sorry but at the same time very proud that we had things together enough to continue the song from right where she interrupted us,” said Last Call member Henrik Béen to Sydsvenskan.

“I want to point out that we are very apolitical and have only the greatest respect for Tiina Rosenberg,” he said.

The paper was unable to reach Rosenberg for a comment, however the head of Lund University, commented on Sunday that he didn’t plan to take any action following the incident.

“She can take responsibility for her own behaviour,” Göran Bexell told Sydsvenskan.

“I don’t want to make this any bigger and I hope that it doesn’t spill over into her research.”

Bexell added that he didn’t feel there was anything inappropriate about the song which upset Rosenberg.

“They lampooned both the right and the left. And they were very well received by the other guests,” he told the newspaper.

Swedish feminists are so funny. How anyone can have respect for them, though, is beyond me. The establishment approved 'rebels' these days are so lame. They campaign for controversial issues such as equality, anti-racism, and minority rights. How radical, I do say.

Those, who are unhappy about being softcore, mainstream rebels, try to take their rebellion to the next level. That's when the whole thing spills into the sphere of the hilarious, and even absurd. They try to top each others' anti-racism and strive for equality with the most absurd statements and policies.

Its always good to bring the rebellious left down a notch by reminding them, who the true rebels are in today's socio-political climate. No, its not the guy wearing a Ché Guevara t-shirt. Not even if he's got an anti-war badge attached to his Ché-shirt.

But the rightists/nationalists are to be blamed as well, in a way, because many of them seem to have a disposition of "defenders of the established order" against the evil leftists who - allegedly - want to overthrow it, not understanding that the leftists ARE the establishment. I don't know what's the situation in Sweden, but in many countries you have this absurd situation.

We care a lot. Seriously though, I understand it's a matter of true journalist code of honour.

I think I can tell that Bexell is shocked and disgusted? But he does not have the guts to say so. That's a pity.

AAARGH this is what really gets to me. Why must he assure everyone that "he's very apolitical" and that he respects Tiina Rosenberg. Yes sure respect my a$$ after an outburst like that! Why must we always put in the damn disclaimer ... at least he should have given a "no comment" or said outright that he demands an apology.

This is what is afflicting our Western modern society we always grumble about.

As for the repercussions after this incident, you can rest assured that had
it been the other way round, the suing and the sacking would have been very swift and merciless indeed. And they would have made it much much bigger.
