Czech Republic: Euroskeptic President Re-elected

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: February 16, 2008

President Vaclav Klaus, a center-right conservative, was narrowly re-elected to a five-year term with the support of 141 lawmakers in Parliament. He needed 140 votes for re-election. His main rival was Jan Svejnar, a Czech-born economics professor at the University of Michigan. Mr. Klaus disputes assertions that human activity is to blame for global warming and is a fierce Euroskeptic. The Czech Republic takes over the European Union’s rotating presidency early next year.

Vaclav Klaus is good. Only I wish he were more radical.

Euroskeptic, not convinced about the Global Warming hoax? Sounds good. The Czech Christoph Blocher?
Anyway, the Czechs managed to avoid the worst, I talk about the so-called "economist" candidate. Nothing beats an economics professor to ruin a nation, and not only economically, right Breha?

Yes, savy Savorgnan, yes ... professors ruin lives when they rule, especially the ones who teach philosophy ... Pol Pot was a Sorbonne graduate, after all.

Yes, he was. But the most dangerous nowadays are the ones who got mentally contaminated (by liberalism, of course) in Northern American universities. Twenty years after, you have those Yale and Harvard products at the head of nations-states all over the world.

Well, PHD economists are different to B.A. graduates, because PHD economics is actually a form of applied mathematics (especially at the microeconomics level). As for B.A. graduates that's the different story.

The new Polish Foreign Minister would fall into this category. He formerly worked at the American Enterprise Institute, was executive director of the New Atlantic Initiative and is married to the very Atlanticist American journalist Anne Applebaum.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Rados³aw Sikorski

There are plenty of them. New Atlantic Initiative? I think that even Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, who opposed (not very loudly, though) to Sarkozy's "simplified" European Treason/Treaty is a member of it (or of another Atlanticist "society"?), like François Hollande (current Socialist leader), Alain Juppé (former "Conservative" leader), Dominique Strauss-Kahn (ex-future Socialist leader, before taking over the FMI ), almost every top-list journalists and media bosses...
