Threatening "independence" is, in my opinion, one of the means in which Americans blackmail Serbia into accepting their military-strategic demands and becoming their main Balkanic puppet. Serbia, however, still resists.

They already have Mladic and Karadzic to blackmail us. I guess they expect Kosovo to be a way to blackmail us for a longer priod. since in about 4 years Mladic will officially be under normal circumstances be presumed dead (it will have been 10 years since he was last seen). Karadzic under normal circumstance would already be presumed dead and not only that but recently their have been many reports of him being under the protection of NATO (althoguh this isn't new this has been reported in the Balkans since 1996, it's only new in the west where it has been reproted in the last few months).

Albanians view independence as the solution to all their problems. All their leaders say is independence. Their politicians don't tell them how they will create jobs and so forth. The simple fact is that Kosovo is not viable as an independent state. Their is no legal way for them to obtain independence. And should the Albanians try to unilaterally delcare independence (i.e. no more negotiations after Dec. 10) they will face a scenario like northern cyprus (which is likely what the west wants as they could blackmail Serbia by sayibng - "do as we say or we will blackmail you").

Their is nothing Russia can do. The only thing Russia can do were if the Radical Party in Serbia put forth a resolution declaring unilateral union with Russia and it were approved by 2/3's of parliament. However, even if the Radical Party were to do that it wouldn't get enough support since most parties here are EU puppets.

Basically to summarize it. It has as much viability as a state as the Serbs in Croatia did with their RSK experiment.
