Default Anthropological territories of the Balkans

1. Laponoid (Alpine) majority
2. Absolute Armenoid majority
3. Relative Armenoid majority
4. Central European mixed territory, majority of Nordic element
5. Majority of Mediterranean race

Seems to be realistic though I wonder that all the Nordid areas are in the Serbian territories

It may even be true that those regions are the strongest Nordid ones, but still - predominantely and all from North to South?

It was my fault not to explain (translate) it properly. Relative majority of (for example Nordic) element means that Nordic element is the strongest one among 4 basic elements. Theoretically it can vary from 26% to 50% while practically is closer to 35% - 30%. As such (after XIV centuries since Slavic invasion) do not create numerous Nordid types in Belarus or Icelandic meaning but rather typical Central European blondish intermediate subtypes namely Subnordics or Norics (Awar’s UP/Dinarics or whatever ).

Default Re: Anthropological territories of the Balkans

good map. for the nordic area its true. in south-eastern albania which borders the nordic regions of macedonian slavs there is a sharp increase in blondes.

the map doesnt show all of albania. i wonder where according to J. Czekanowski does alpine relative majority takes over.

ps did J. Czekanowski visit the maped areas personally, or is he basing it on secondary evidence?

Definitely the 1st. The first looks quite typical whereas the 2nd looks too me too deviating. I should add that the other plates from this series (f.e. of Nordid) were not too good as well.

The first one, of course, though you'll rarely find people with such large noses anywhere in the Balkans except the westernmost parts, like Montenegro and Croatia.

All look more like something you'll see in Armenia rather than Balkans.

I guess Czekanowski would call him Armenoid.
His Dinaric type is Armenoid/Nordid intermediate as more typical for Dinaric Mts population.

They look too rounded for typical-"pure" Dinarids.

Women have rounder facial contour. No. 4-5 and 8-9 look sharp enough to me.

Those are pictures of younger people than what's usually represented as 'Dinaric' in books ( a 70 year old man with no teeth ).

Other textbook dinarics look more like something from Armenia rather than Balkans.

Sure they are Dinarids.

This German politician is pred. Dinarid too:

The painter Defregger showed many Tyrolese, you can see plenty of average Dinarid faces (often with Nordid, Alpinid though) under them:
