Pictures of the human races of the world and useful maps:

The pictures have the typical style of "the 70's" but are ok otherwise and probably interesting for other members.

The pictures are out of the book from Georg Glowatzki, Die Rassen des Menschen - Entstehung und Ausbreitung, Stuttgart 1976.
Its not big deal and if its about the content far from being great, but still the pictures, even if not optimal, are useful I think.

Description:
First side from left above:
Nordid, Dalonordid (Dalofaelid), Osteuropid, Alpine, Lappid, Dinarid.

Second side:
Mediterranid, Berberid, Orientalid, Indid, Indid (Gypsy), Armenid.

Third side:
Turanid - Weddid, Polynesid, Ainuid - Mongolide: Tungid, Sinid

This table is about the terminology of various anthropologist which describe more or less the same types.

This are pictures of the more important racial types of the world defined by the standards of the classical German terminology.

However, the people are photographed from different angles, are of different age and some of different sex, thats something everybody should keep in mind of course.
They show the typical features, features which can be recognized on this pictures, but they can not always be used pars pro toto, especially if not thinking about the things mentioned above.

This pictures are out of the "Fischer Lexikon - Anthropologie, edited by Gerhard Heberer, Ilse Schwidetzky and Hubert Walter, first printed 1959, the edition of 1970.

If there is a continuity from north africa to south europe why is this happening?




For a german the skin colour might induce this kind of mistake to happen but, to any Iberian it's damn easy to distinguish from any algerian to most Iberians (most not all)

Some colors of these maps are merged together because it was printed to paper and scanned again by the person in question.

The file size is much lower too so it won't take Stirpes' resources to death.

The Mediterranids/Mediterranoids of North Africa are of another subtype most of the time (Berberid, Southern Mediterranid) and mixed.
But still there are phenotypically "pure" Gracilmediterranids f.e. in Tunisia though.

This is a simplified scheme like dolichocephalic-darker (for European standards) Europids with relatively straight-medium/narrow nose and rather narrow face = Mediterranoid.

No. You might know Glowatzki's "book" from which the pictures are taken are rather small...

I will add more pictures in the future, but close the thread, because its rather for orientation, to illustrate the racial types of the world.
The pictures can be taken and linked, discussed in other threads, because the overview would be probably lost otherwise, if a discussion about more sides would come up here...
