Well I would not consider Günther's work in their entirety "junk" as you seems to think. Rassenkunde Europas was a early work and certainly not the best but he made some other works that at least must be taken into consideration for those who are interested in anthropology. It cost to me time and money to get all the works that everybody can get now for free and just clicking at the mouse, unfortunately still there are not all Günther's works available on the net but this selection is quite something for people interested about him. With all my respect if you don't like is fine to me but I have given the links because I was thinking that some people can be interested on that.

Anyway if you like to see Ariets has posted some work that can fit better in your preferences:

The Mediterranean race - Giuseppe Sergi

I have severals works from Sergi too as I am interested about anthropology and probably the work posted by Ariets is not the best. In my opinion best Sergi's work is "Europa" and I got the luck to get the original from Dr. Eugen Fischer personal library, but I think it will be difficult to scan the 652 pages of this Sergi's work.

Just one think more. Even if you don't believe Günther and Sergi have points in common. Obviously not in the origin of the civilisations but on the origin of the races. It is funny but it is like that.

I agree with you for the respect matter .
No personnal offense was aimed to you. Günther certainly made very good works on physical anthropology, my attack aimed his views on racial history and the cheatous selection of historical figures portraits he made to show their "nordicness" (The Italian exemples are the one that still appeals me the most...).

You do not have to do that for me
BTW, do you know where could I purchase a "Fischer Lexicon"? Not available in Abebooks

If you mean the small "Das Fischer Lexikon - Anthropologie" from which I scanned some plates, you can get it on Abebooks:
AbeBooks: Suchergebnisse - fischer anthropologie

The editor was Gerhard Heberer, another author I. Schwidetzky, the well known scholar of v. Eickstedt.

Those are many pages. Which is a shame because most printers today would scan it into a one PDF document. But you know who you could contact and ask him to have it done for you.

It's not funny. It derives from an inferiority complex provoked in Germans by the often derogative displays of cultural superiority made over Germans, made by Italians.

So it's basically one of the biggest rants known in history, and a reaction through pretended [or pseudo-] science. Irresponsible as all acts arisen from slobbery are.

By the way, I don't think that any of you two (Visigodo, Agrippa) have commented on this discussion:

European Race or European Races

I'd like to hear your opinions. I suspect that you might make strange bedfellows with Waarnemer there. Even if for different (but at the same time similar, in the case of VG) reasons.

I've neglected it for a time, but for a reason I believe that it is a very interesting discussion subject, that might shed some light in the political thinking of different people.

That's why some authors tried desperatelly to seek for german influences in Italian renaissance
A pity because Germany also had great renaissance men as Dürer and Lüther.
It is clear that is not a generalized german complex but a spotted one from some individuals who must not be very satisfied with their own personal achievements and try to get some pride from their ethnic heritage..but their complex must be so inflated that their own heritage does not suffice them and try to steel othe peoples heritage...I say this because I know several germans who are experts n renaissance and do not display any complex, but of course, they have a scientific mind and that is the biggest difference.
