Based on purely sexual selection and not taking into account any kind of artificial manipulation such as genetic engineering, f.e., what do you think the general direction of future evolution in human facial and body features will be? Is the current state of gracialisation most of all observed in classic Nordid and Mediterranean phenotypes the pinnacle of evolution or is there still place left for future advancement? If there is, than what it is that could be changed in your opinion? And lets not take any environmental factors into account either, such as technological advancement, as for all we know there is a relatively big chance of humanity sinking into another stone age. So, based purely on sexual selection.

Only on condition this regime and the power structures which steer it, falls, will there be a chance for people to come to senses. How would you walk without toes, for God's sake? |

People do this every day. Isn't evolution supposed to improve a being, in order to ensure its survival? Quote:
![]() You probably misunderstood me. What do you use your toes for? Probably for nothing other than walking. They provide stability, along with the rest of the foot. I meant that there is no need for foot fingers( ), and I've read that they will most probably merge into one "finger"(thus become part of foot).

i remember a few days ago I saw a program on tv in which some scientists believed that unless the degeneration societies stops humans will become darker, taller (average height will become 1.80m) and we will have the communication skills of chimpanzees.
In other words, we are a future of degenerate africans in the nba.

Besides, I find it hard to believe that evolution would be some constant process of growth (metaphorically speaking), elevation onto superior levels. There are no proofs for that. It is the modern superstition of "progress" that makes us think that we are improving constantly in everything. I rather see the development of human kind in a sort of zig-zag line. Or rather it seems to me that we are not evolved and progressed from the time of our ancestors, but on the contrary that we are degraded and involved descendants of some of our superior ancestors who might have lived many many a time ago. All ancient myths, legends and even some histories concur in recounting of past golden ages, of the deterioration of the human kind, not betterment. But it is just in the realm of pure speculation, so I won't bother with that any more. Last edited by Marcus Marulus; Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 at 19:39. |

Wisdom teeth will disappear and jaws will become smaller, at least this is what we are in the process to. Today 5% of earth population naturally lacks some of the 4 wisdom teeth (10 % in europe, 25% in northern europe). In apes all the 32 teeth grow out at the same time, in humans who have smaller jaws the two extra pairs of molars wait until the jaw is fullgrown, i. e. around the age of 20 when man is about to reach maturity (thus the name -- wisdom teeth, but obviously they have nothing to do with wisdom), This is btw why some people have uneven teeth

I am more interested in pure geometry - if we take a super harmonious, gracialized and progressive face of a modern Nordid and consider it a golden standard, would such a face be the peak of human evolution or is it possible to refine these features even more? Assuming that the tendency is gracialization and miniaturization of features would even narrower face, thinner nose, even more three-dimensional face make it even more progressive or is there a limit after which such features would only make the face uglier? Where is such a limit and do you think humanity has achieved it already? |

There is a tribe in Africa, where all people have only two big fingers on their feet, apparently it makes climbing the palm-trees much easier.
