Police investigate shots fired at journalist's home Source
Link to the actual case covered Police in both Oslo and Follo were cooperating Friday in an investigation of shots that were fired at the home of a journalist for Oslo newspaper Dagsavisen. The shots were fired through the windows of the home of reporter Nina Johnsrud, who recently has written several articles about a murder in Oslo's Torshov district. It remained unclear what motivated the shootings, which Johnsrud herself said she believes were fired as a warning to her, not necessarily a murder attempt. Police say they’re not ruling out a possible connection between the shooting late Wednesday night and the Torshov shooting last month. A 21-year-old suspect in that case remains at large, although he has made promises to turn himself in. "Johnsrud was heavily involved in the stories," said Sjak Haaheim of the Oslo Police District, adding that police were keeping all possibilities open regarding a motive for the shots fired through her windows. Johnsrud noted that she has covered several major criminal cases, and has no idea who shot at her house. She said she hadn't received any death threats. Masked men attacked prison guards, grabbed prisoner Source Two prison guards who were escorting a prisoner on a visit to his sick mother in Oslo were assaulted by armed and masked men who then seized the prisoner. The drama occurred late Friday morning in Oslo's Alnabru district. The prisoner, who police say had been incarcerated for about a year, had been granted what was supposed to be a supervised leave to visit his ailing mother. The prisoner, his family and the two guards were sitting in the living room of the family's home when two masked and armed men burst in just before 11am. They threatened the guards and then tied them up and locked them into a bathroom inside the house, along with the prisoner's brother. Other family members were also bound and locked inside the house. The attackers then seized the prisoner and fled. Police said they weren't sure whether the incident was aimed at freeing the prisoner or kidnapping him. A massive police manhunt was underway. Ellen Ulvin of the Oslo Police District also said witnesses were being questioned and technical experts were on the scene to collect evidence. The director of the Oslo prison where the man had been held said he wasn't considered dangerous. He had, however, been convicted for acts of physical violence and making threats, and also had a prior record for a sex offense against a 15-year-old girl. No one was reported injured during the attack. TH comments; It is now strongly suspected by the police that this was arranged by the Pakistani family to set their rapist relative free. After the raid, the family were very calm, smiling and cheering. To the inhabitants of Noway; Wake up, realize that not ALL Pakistanis are involved in criminal activities, direct or indirectly. Prisoner freed - father and uncle arrested Source
The Oslo police have arrested and charged two persons, after a prisoner on leave under guard was abducted by two armed men on Friday. The 24-year-old prisoner was still at large Saturday morning. The police believe that the prisoner himself probably arranged the abduction, which took place while he was visiting his sick mother, escorted by two prison officers. Both the prison officers and the prisoner's family members were tied up an locked in during the attack. (NRK) Last edited by Aptrgangr; Thursday, May 17th, 2007 at 15:48. |

Raids to crush gang
Also many of these have been arrested in Brazil, and may haveto do long penalties there. And there are differences on Brazilian and Norwegians prisons too, so they are now trying to be delievered to Norway for doing the time, but Brazilian autorities have a campaign on organized eurocrime in Brazil, and seems not to respond to that... . |
