Piper at the Gates of Dawn
 Piper at the gates of Dawn, the great poet, singer, musician and artist Roger Keith Syd Barrett, has left this world. Thank you so much for casting brilliant lights into the deepts of this everlasting night... Shine on you Crazy Diamond!  Syd Barrett homesite He is remembered as one of the founding members of the group Pink Floyd, Barrett was active as a rock musician for only a few years, before mental instability forced him into seclusion. I believe the phrase, "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" originally came from a chapter in Graham Greene's The Wind in the Willows, in which Mole and Ratty have a spiritual experience.
