According to Saller (not the best anthropologists but still a valuable source) Protomalayids/Dayakids can be found especially under the Battak of Sumatra, the Dayak on Borneo, the Toradja, the Tenggerese (always German words) of Java and the Igorots on the Philippines. The Alfurs of Celebes and on many other small islands.

The great variation of this racial type he attributes mainly to the varying degrees and sources of admixture, primarily with Weddoids, less so with Negritids.

Hair is black and straight or wavy, body and facial hair weak (compare with Ainuids), skin color light brown but with variation. Cheekbones accentuated, nose somewhat prominent, usually no epicanthus, lips are thick and the body build is stocky.
