Why have you made these pages?

I have made these pages because I have a great interest in military history in general (and the Axis nations of World War II in particular).

These pages also enable people to learn more about various periods of our history, something I feel is very important.

Feldgrau.com is a non political German military history research site. Our focus is on the German armed forces during the most tumultuous period of the 20th century, the time between 1918 and 1945.

We've been online since February of 1996 and have had over one million visitors! Our main focus is on the operational histories of the units and organizations that made up the German army, navy, airforce and all associated auxiliary formations, both during the Weimar period and the NSDAP era.

Feldgrau is a massive work in progress; our motto is "information kept secret is lost". There are many sections here that aren't yet complete but we strive to add new information all the time!

Wehrmacht-Awards.com is an entity focused on the awards, decorations and militaria of the German Armed Forces during the Third Reich era. Within the pages of this project you will find construction methods, manufacturing characteristics, and detailed specifications of vital interest to every collector. Yet the site offers more than technical information; by presenting recipient biographies and delving into the historical atmosphere of the era, the reader is able to better understand and appreciate the experiences of the men who charged into battle for Germany throughout World War II.

The website currently spans over 400 pages and includes a comprehensive catalog of Wehrmacht militaria, which can be browsed with the navigation bar to the left.
