According Degrelle's own words, Slavs were racially of better quality than Germans were. That's certainly what pissed off hardcore NS at the time. The more Eastern they went the blonder were the girls and the healthier they looked, much more healthy than what the youth movement had gathered in Germany. The soldiers were astonished as it went against all the propaganda they had learnt about Slavs being sub-human shit. A proof that those old racist theorists were all fucked up in their head.
