this is a really interesting book about English mercenary Captain John Hawkwood and other famous mercenary companies from different European countries in Italy. It also gives an interesting and well detailed analysis about the way things worked in Italy during this time period, specially in the political spectrum.

Walden, or Life in the Woods, by Henry D. Thoreau.

I've read this book in english once a time, and now I'm reading in portuguese to understand better. It's a soft book, easy reading, written by one of my favorite authors, about the years that he has spent living in the woods near the lake Walden, in New England.

It's part biography, part philosophy~poetry and, in some chapters, it's like a manual handbook. For those like me who are interested in leaving urban centers to live amongst nature and the freethinkers, is an awesome book.
