Merkel alarmed by rising violence in Germany
Berlin - Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Sunday she was alarmed by a rise in right-wing violence and called upon Germans and the country's political parties to show courage and stand up against those behind it.
"I'm obviously concerned about the increase of violence by right-wing extremists," she told Deutschlandfunk radio. Germany plans to address the problem across Europe during its six-month European Union presidency this year.
"Extremist violence no matter from which direction can never be accepted. The government has raised efforts to fight it."
The number of far-right crimes in Germany jumped by 20 percent to 8 000 assaults in the first eight months of 2006, according to the latest available police data.
"We need a bit of courage from all the political parties to clearly resist and we're trying in the government to take the problem intensively," she said.
"We should applaud the many people who show courage to stand up, who intervene against right-wing extremist violence," she said. "They're doing the right thing and we need to excite others to take that approach too."

I guess they won't be online too long, there wil lhappen the same like happened to NPD broadcastings, "open and free" democracy outlaws all critical reports and urges hosters to delete these reports.
