Well, we don't rush with the answers. Some come straight and others take days, weeks, and even months.

I don't know how many of them will be HIV seropositive, but given the high incidence of AIDS in Africa one can safely presume that a good number of them must have the virus.

In this respect, this is not the only problem. Other problems have been evidenced already. For example the introduction of alien species like that of the mosquito tiger (this one from Asia, not Africa), which was detected recently in Barcelona. This mosquito was also detected in some part of Italy a few years ago, and before they realized it had expanded North to South throughout Italy. It is a transmitter of diseases like yellow fever, malaria and denghe. Great.

Near where I live there is a big swamp which is an endemic area for the mosquito anopheles, transmitter of malaria. Malaria was eradicated in this area long ago, but with the arrival of the Sub-Saharans, some of which will surely have malaria, I expect an outbreak sometime in the future.


Now, as for their status, just today I was watching the news and there was a report of the Sub-Saharans who Moroccan authorities had abandoned in the Sahara desert. Some were denouncing that they had been robbed of some personal items by Moroccan police, including mobile phones. Ah! So they starve to death but they can afford having mobile phones which they have bought on their arrival to Morocco or they brought with themselves from their homelands (and therefore can afford to pay for a service of roaming and the cost of international calls)?

It's a total rip off.
