In an interview with the BBC reporter Frost Bhutto stated two months ago that Bin LAden had been killed by an I.S.I agent, Omar Sheikh who had been also linked to 911's Mohamed Atta.

The mention happens incidentally in the middle of the interview, while she speaks of the islamist movement in Pakistan and of a cruel bombing that had killed 150 people, a deadly assault to her convoy in Karachi the month before this interview 0n November 15, 2007.

The BBC has apologised for editing an interview on its website with Benazir Bhutto after it deleted her astonishing claim that Osama Bin Laden had been murdered.

In the original interview with David Frost, conducted last November for the al Jazeera channel and later aired on BBC.co.uk under a licensing deal, Bhutto casually stated that Bin Laden had been killed by Omar Sheikh.

But the version shown on BBC.co.uk did not show the Bhutto's claim, prompting accusations on online message boards that it the BBC was "censoring public information".

BBC News website editor Steve Herrmann said the comment was edited out because of time pressure and because "it appeared so unexpected that it seemed she had simply mis-spoken".


In a post on the BBC.co.uk editors blog, Herrmann apologised for the editing and promised to replace the online footage with a newly edited clip, including Bhutto's allegation.


"The claim was brief and went unchallenged by Sir David Frost," he said. "Under time pressure, the item producer responsible for publishing the video on the BBC website edited out the comment, with the intent of avoiding confusion… however, editing out her comment was clearly a mistake, for which we apologise, and it should not have happened. There was no intention on our part to distort the meaning of the interview."

I found Bhutto's statement quite interesting because she doesn't correct herself and the interviewer simply pretends she never said it. It is not enough to build a case upon but it is still very interesting.

Sifjiar, don't get fooled by feminist schematisms ... bhutto was killed just like a man in her position would have been.

She was about to take back the country and the current elite in power, which is utterly dictatorial, didn't want it.

Actually in such countries women and men pass each other power along blood lines, as in monarchies: Bhutto was the daughter of the deposed dictator Ali Bhutto, she got power because of her being his daughter, and now the scepter will likely pass to her son, if he succeds to have free elections.

As in India, where Indira Ghandi passed power to her son Rajiv, who, when killed, passed the scepter to his italian wife, Sonia: she refused it just because of her italian ancestry, but things are as such, the real power in the party that was of the Ghandi family is still in Sonia's hands.

The real question is how democratic are such countries, where political parties are just familiar clans, as long as this is important for us ...

I've noticed that women can be good politicians (in the sense of 'administrators'), but they are definitely not good ideologists or militants. The proof is the number of women in, for example, this nationalist forum.

Don't you realize how you do a disservice to women with statements such as this one, lowering then in their dignity to the level of whiners?

Bhutto was not killed for being a woman.

What would anyone think if I said that because of the members of the Gemayel family (Lebanon, for your information) who have been killed, "it is a good example that shows that men are not accepted widely in any political debate, blah.. blah.."?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if people said that my statement is pathetic. But if I said that your statement is pathetic, someone might come and tell me that I've been ungentleman to you. Unfair, isn't it? But my dignity as a man prevents me from whining about it.

If you have a brain, show it. But do not pretend that it is taken for granted that you have a brain, only because you are a woman.
