Default Barça's emblem cross-less in Saudi Arabia

Another example of islamic hate toward european symbols:

Barcelona shirts appearing cross-less in Saudi Arabia

MADRID (AFP) — Imitation Barcelona shirts sold in Saudi Arabia have a club emblem doctored to exclude the St George's Cross, the municipal flag of the Spanish city, La Vanguardia newspaper reported Saturday.
The Barcelona-based daily, citing Spanish residents in the Saudi capital Riyadh, said the horizontal bar to the red cross on white background had been omitted from the shirts' badges.
Club officials in Barcelona were not immediately available for comment.
La Vanguardia said that the club had been informed of the sale of fake shirts in Muslim countries, notably with the altered cross of Sant Jordi, but thought they were not sold in shops.
The paper said the alteration was down to a fear of offending Muslims by the cross' connotation to the Crusades during the 12th and 13th centuries when English soldiers adopted the St George's Cross as they attempted to recapture Jerusalem and the Holy Land from Muslim rule.
Earlier this week the Turkish media were up in arms over Inter Milan's choice of jersey, a huge St George's cross on a white background, while playing against Istanbul side Fenerbahce.
Inter said they had worn the strip to celebrate the club's 100th birthday.

In the right we can see how appear the emblem of F.C.Barcelona in some islamic countries like Saudi Arabia or Algeria. What will be the next, the banning of Scandinavian flags, for example?

Sick. But it comes as no surprise taking into account that some even want to erase it from the very European soil, be it on a T-shirt, a car, or even a national flag.

Pathetic. The St. George is important... I don't see a point to ban it from the country/city/region that uses it in/as its flag. Especially England. It's our bloody flag damn it.

My flag is not racist. Saying that it is racist is discriminatory and I demand my right to not be discriminated against be exerted.

The clubs in question should refuse to play matches in those countries that are not willing to respect their insignia, instead of bowing before the demands of these Saudis or Turks. But this is not going to happen because large sums of money are at stake. And the owners and sponsors of those clubs cherish that much more than honour.

The same goes for the T-shirts: these are counterfeited T-shirts, if they don't represent the original symbol of the club. Barça should sue those who distribute the T-shirts. In case the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia refuses to do anything about that (ie. through its courts to enforce the original T-shirt), then Barça should refuse ever to play with any Saudi club or have any business whatsoever with that country. But that's not going to happen either, for the same reason I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

I even heard that in most Muslim countries, as well as in Israel, the sign plus (+) is not used in maths because of its similarity with the cross, but some dot or little circle instead. I am not able to verify that right now.

That's right. The football club is company which is based in the urge to earn money --the soul-related aspects are nothing more than an obstacle.

I read this article in the morning. I regard it not as an example of islamic hate, but as an example of our cowardice, our indecency, our inner void.

Shame on them. To me, Barça's image is stained for ever (I hated the club anway, so...).
